About the Authors
I am the co-founder of SkilledAtLife.com and I started it because of my innate desire to better my life. I knew deep inside that there were fundamental principles to leading a successful, happy, healthy, fulfilling and prosperous life that I wanted to learn and apply. I also wanted to share my research and findings with others who desired to change their lives for the better.
When I first conceived this web site, I was running my own online business in the education industry. I owned numerous successful and profitable web sites but, somehow, I did not feel fulfilled or happy. I began to realize that there were integral skills that I lacked which were imperative to leading a life of balance, productivity, joy, health, authentic power and fulfillment. It became my mission to research, learn and apply these skills and to share them with others. That is how SkilledAtLife.com was born.
Since then, I have learned to become more productive, meditate regularly, eat healthier, exercise, practice gratitude and positive visualization, forgive, help others, and lead a contented life mostly filled with joy, success, adventure and meaning. However, I am human, am far from perfect, and am still learning new life-skills every day, often from Skilled At Life community members like you. I derive tremendous satisfaction from sharing my findings with others who also want to unleash their true potential. We are all on this journey together.
I have lived in 3 countries, travel the world often, and currently reside in Florida. I speak 4 languages (some much more proficiently than others!), love cats, non-fiction books, documentaries, cooking, the beach, wine, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
I am one of the founders and authors for SkilledAtLife.com. I am originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and now live in Orlando, Florida. Along the way, I have made a few stops. I have lived in London, Washington DC, San Francisco, and have also spent a considerable amount of time in Singapore.
It was when I was attending college in San Francisco that I was first introduced to the practice of yoga. Over the years, I have transitioned my interest in yoga into other mindful practices such as meditation and visualization. Over the past 15 years, that interest has grown further and entered other aspects of my life. Through reading, education, experimentation, and regular practice, I have learned that exercise and nutrition go hand-in-hand with mindfulness to create a more enriched, peaceful, and fulfilled life.
I have had the very good fortune to have lived in four countries on four continents, and to have been exposed to a wealth of different cultures. Through my varied and rich life experience, I have learned that there is at least one universal truth: we all need the same life skills in order to be happy, regardless of who we are or where we live. It isn’t a very long or complicated list of skills, and many of the items on the list are pure common sense. But unfortunately, it is a list with which many of us are not familiar.
That is what led me to develop SkilledAtLife.com. My goal is to share this list with as many people as possible and provide them with the simple life skills that will ensure that they not only reach their greatest potential but also find and maintain happiness along the way.
